13.8.06 went to drink heaps of young wine at a local Inn in the vienna <woods. The wine tasted great and had the violin and accordian going and lots of singing etc. Great views of Vienna and then off to a classical concert involving musicians, singers etc. Great location in one of the minor palace rooms. Felt very privileged.
14.8.06 Left Vienna and across Austrian Alps into Venice Italy. Once arrived, went on water taxi into the city itself and hit the Gondola <Ride with singer and accordian music seranading us. Very Romantic. Lots of photos etc. Today went back to the city area for a glass blowing tour and a wallet blowing excursion in that same shop. Bought a very nice piece of hand blown glass in the form of a vase. Then had a good look around the city and old buildings, including 360 degree views from the Bell Tower. Agaain lots of photos. Then off by water taxi to burano >Island where had a great luch and more alcohol. Very pretty village again with canals etc. Very hard to describe with the city etc built on watare and the tide washing in and out of the lower part of some buildings. Great tiring day and then tomorrow off to Assisi, heading towards Rome.
