Just letting you know that this is being typed on a >German keyboard with all the letters in the wrong places and we had to change to another program as all of the details of the net were in German. Very hard to read and understand. Its now late night here in Mannihiem, Germany. Had a great day. Last night had a dinner at a floating restaurant - indonesian food and then went for a walk through the red light district of Amerstandam. Sawv the girls in the windows, dressed up to the nines in their bras and knickers with alsorts of coloured lighting beind them to help make them lööok good to the passing thousands of people who are walking by late at night. No idea of the cost but I would imagine with two aussie dollars to the Euro, it wouldnt come cheap.
<this morning, headed off to Kohn, where we saw the Gothic Catherdral there. Massive and 400years old. We decided to take the walk up the 500 plus steps and go to the top of one of the spires. Very hard and long way up, but very good view from top. <Narrow winding stairs with no air. Best Stairmaster 2000 I have ever used. Wore off all the full breakky we had. Unfortunately like Australia, there was name grafitti at the top on every available wall.
After lunch at Catherdral area, went on Rhine cruise for 1.5hrs and saw lots of villages, castles, grape vines and every nationality imaginable. Sat on top deck and sipped red-white wine whilst doing so. AH WHAT A LIFE: Everything we are seeing is awesome and we are having the time of our lives. After deciding that we would come back in later years and do a 5star river cruise, we then moved onto Hiedelberg where we went up to the Castle overlooking the town and saw how the Fuedal lord lived from the 15th centuray onwards. It appears that he had a really good life, full of servants, drink and excess, whilst overlooking his subjects. The University here is equal to Harvard in USA and Oxford in UK. Very impressive with the entire Town being some where btn 400 to 500 years old. Just a littel older than Thuringowa is.
All Hotels have been great´, good size rooms and great breakys. Staying here in Mannhiem in centre of Town and just strolled down the road to this cafe. Very busy days with us trying to take in too much information and taking way too many photos, but not knowing that around the corner is even more photo opportunities. Thanks god for large capacity memory cards.
Heading off to Lucerne tomorrow with a continuation of the journey. We are seeing cities and Towns that we have only read about in famous novels and stories and movies. >Great weather so far, but no doubt it cant last for the rest of our time. Just walking here bought back memories of Townsville. Down the main street came a procession of hoon cars, windows down, loud exhausts and stereos playing doof doof music. Nothing changes and it was also noticed that lkie Townsville, there are only guys in the cars, too busy with their cars to take out girls.
Both well and still talking too each other. Enjoying the liquors and chockolate fixes that we have every night whilst planing the next days. Up early at btn 5.45am and 6am and on the road by 7.30ish so a good nights sleep is important. By the end of the day, we are fairly tired.
Love to all and hope you enjoy reading our ramblings. Hoepfully the next computer we use will not have German subtitles.
B and M - The travellers.
